Volunteer with PIPs

From Wags To Riches

Volunteers and Fosters are the backbone of the rescue. We have many ways you can volunteer your time. From behind the scenes to being a puppy wrangler at events!

We ask that you are at least 16 to volunteer at an event by yourself. We allow children 10 and older to help at events as long as a parent is are there to assist. If you have a minor that wants to volunteer, please email volunteer@pipsrescue.org

So much more than fostering goes into rescue. The wonderful PIPs ninjas who work behind the scenes make the rescue run smoothly and efficiently. If you are not in a position to foster, please consider volunteering your time. Volunteering can be as little as an hour or two a day to a few hours a week.

Don’t worry if you’re not experienced in volunteering with a rescue, we are here to show you the ropes. Volunteering is a very rewarding experience and you can meet some amazing people along the way.

Please sign up to volunteer on our PIPs Hub: https://pipsrescue.givepulse.com/

Once on the HUB, join the Main PIPs Hub and then click Programs to find the volunteer HUB, there you can select what interests  you as a volunteer. Joining does not guarantee or obligate you to a position.  When you register, it will put you on the list to receive emails and texts from us when a need arises within that group.

Adoption Team

Our rescue strongly believes in setting adopters up with all the tools they need to be a successful dog parent and that is where our adoption team comes in. From processing applications to guiding adopters through the process to being there post adoption to help continued success  – all take a big part in making the adoption experience a good one!

Foster Team

This is the frontline for all PIPs fosters. The Foster Team  processes foster applications, speaks with potential fosters about what is expected and works to set PIPs fosters up for success. A Foster Coordinator is a foster’s go-to. A Foster Coordinator needs to possess a passion to help people and the drive to match a new PIPs pup with a foster home that is the best fit for them.

Fundraising Team

Do you have ideas on how to help PIPs raise much needed funds? PIPs needs volunteers that possess the drive and creativity to raise money for the rescue. We need people with great ideas and people that are ready to hop in to implement those ideas!

Administration and/or Development

Admin: Behind the scenes administration work is so important for every rescue. PIPs always needs dedicated people working the back-end to help enter new dogs into the system and keep them updated. We also need volunteers to work on website updates, newsletters, etc.

Development: PIPs wholeheartedly believes in embracing new ideas. Do you have an idea on how PIPs can grow? Grants? Community outreach? Let’s talk!

Events

Do you enjoy playing with puppies? Do you enjoy socializing? This is what events are all about- cuddling adorable pups, speaking with potential adopters and hanging with wonderful people that are a part of the PIPs community. We have events in many different areas of the Triangle. You can commit to one event or multiple, extra hands are always needed!

Transport

Pups whose foster parents can’t make an event need to hitch a ride to events. PIPs can also always use transport when bringing new pups into the rescue, usually this is transporting a dog from a shelter to the foster home.

If you are looking to foster, please do not fill out the volunteer application form, please fill out the foster application at pipsrescue.org/foster
